The Sacred Elk Hunt
Characters involved:

It was a beautiful day for a hunting expedition in the Ramsalon forest. Some of the local farmers had hired the party to thin some of the prey animals out of the nearby woods so that predators wouldn't start coming too close to the farms. Their guide was a hunter named Flint. He was capable and had gotten the blessing of the local elves to undertake the expedition before it began. It was a sound strategy and the party was able to fell several creatures early.

They made their way into the forest, splitting into two groups, with Flint between them on his own. Nuriel, Edwin, and Saravein took one direction, while Daniel, Savior, and Richard took the other. Both parties were able to spot quarry very quickly. Nuriel was able to shoot the deer that they spotted, killing it quickly and cleanly. Edwin and Saravein had circled it and were ready to provide assistance had she missed. They looked around, spotting a much larger set of tracks that lead back toward where Flint was. Seeing flashes of something silver and white through the trees, they followed it back to Flint's location. They found that the creature they were tracking was a giant white elk. Standing over 8 feet tall it watched them, bellowing once, then eating. Saravein was able to spot a druid in the trees watching the elk and their reaction to it with interest.

Meanwhile Richard and Savior were able to lead Daniel out to where a coyote was sitting. Richard shot it, wounding it, and it bolted. He then cast a mighty fireball on it, and between that and the well aimed shot from Daniel's bow, they felled it. However they now had the problem of the fire being able to spread. Daniel had a very clever idea about the creek they'd followed down, and he suggested that with Richard's immunity to fire, he carry it down and throw it in. However they were startled by the bellowing of the elk, and Richard decided that time was of the essence so he stomped the fire out before calling for Daniel and Savior to follow him toward the noise.

Upon arriving at the clearing Richard and Daniel believed the Elk to be a worthy prize to take home, so they attacked it. They didn't heed the warnings of the others, which caused Saravein to teleport in the way of Richard's fireball. Luckily for him, his natural resistance to magic allowed him to deflect it into the woods and away from the stag. Nuriel took aim at Savior, luckily aiming for a non lethal shot. She knocked him out, but he was luckily still alive. Daniel's arrow flew toward the stag, missing Saravein and knicking the Stag just above it's ear.

At this point, the druid that Saravein had spotted came forth. He told everyone to stop, and let out a strange whistling call into the woods. Edwin instead tackled Richard, unsure of what he would do. This led Daniel to turn the bow on Edwin, trying to get him to leave his friend alone. Saravein took the opportunity to thank his lucky stars he got away with some minor burns and he cast a shield over himself. Nuriel told the men to stop, but when her words weren't heeded she shot an arrow of light at the ground, causing them all to be momentarily blinded.

The druid once more ordered everyone to stop. A second druid, and a third in dire wolf form emerged from the woods where they had been unseen. Nuriel quickly lowered her bow to prevent incurring the wrath of the Druid, and Saravein took a similarly nonthreatening position between the elk and the others in order to protect it if he could. Richard, meanwhile attempted to burn his way out from beneath Edwin who was sitting atop him, trying to talk him into surrendering. Daniel headed to heal Savior, and was able to do so for a moderate amount, even though Savior remained unconscious.

The druids, taking these actions to be in contrast to what they'd asked for, chose instead to polymorph the two men into pigs temporarily. They succeeded, and the two men luckily felt no pain through the process. At that, the druid turned to Saravein and Nuriel, thanking them for helping to save the white Elk's life. He also thanked Edwin although he told him that his methods were confusing. After that, he warned Richard and Daniel that they would receive no mercy the next time. If they were seen in the forest by the druids again, they would be killed on sight. The druids aren't known for giving idle threats, and the fact that no one was killed was a blessing. After leading the way out of the forest, Flint helped find Richard and Daniel a nice safe place to sleep for the night, and Edwin carried Savior in so that he'd be safe as well. Nuriel and Saravein doubled back to get the kill they'd felled and they brought it back to camp. After all was said and done, it was a lucky day all around.

Hey...

LadyK ( and others ) whenever you do get this I'm sincerely sorry. I understand I was being well a dick. I let to much get to me and I wasn't thinking in the rights at all and said things and acted in ways I shouldn't have. I apologize if I hurt your feelings in any way, and I do hope I can make it up to you as we'll as the others. Annoyed as I was I understood the explanations and had a better reasoning for why it ended as it did. I'm glad Richard wasn't offed last night so thank you very much for that. I'm, and I say this as best I can, sincerely sorry for being the way I am. I hope you're ok and everything. Thanks for putting up with me and for taking your time to do these. takes a seat and just rests, looks back up a moment if there is anything you'd like to say to me, be it hurtful even I'd understand and deserve it, let me know here or in a PM.
