At Convention centers, Arenas, Malls, and Hospitals, it's pretty normal to have monthly testing. Basically being able to answer an alarm within a certain amount of time. If you failed, could try again. Failed twice...you were put on probation till you could complete the test or were dropped.

Michigan has low standards for alot of things. Security at the mall is just one of them.

apparently they have very low standards, because that's grounds for being automatically fired with Securitas Security (Formerly Pinkerton and Burns security). If we cannot fulfill the minimum required physical duties and other duties, we are dropped from a site. And if it's that low without some sort of special medical reason, with a doctor's letter describing the condition, it's grounds for just flat out being let go.

Actually...Mall Cop Barry was based on a mall cop in the mall in Kalamazoo Michigan...he is like 350 lbs, is always eating donuts, HAS peppersprayed himself before, and has threatened to throw people out around a mouthfull of donut. He cant run and has no endurance to speak of - he gets winded on three steps.
